Yael Ribco Borman is Counsel at Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes. Currently she lives in Frankfurt, Germany, but has also lived in Paris, Amsterdam and Montevideo (among many others).
Yael specializes in both commercial and investment disputes, having advised and represented companies, State-owned entities and States in international arbitrations under all major international arbitration rules. She also acts as counsel in setting aside and enforcement proceedings before national courts.
Prior to joining Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes, Yael worked as an associate in Shearman & Sterling’s International Arbitration practice and in the corporate department of one of Uruguay’s most renowned law firms.
Yael obtained her J.D. from the Universidad de Montevideo, in Uruguay, and her L.L.M. (cum laude) from the Universiteit van Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
Yael has authored multiple articles and regularly speaks and lectures on international arbitration and public international law. She is also involved in her firm’s pro bono program, handling matters related to climate change, human rights and sexual violence.
