Three Crowns (Madrid)
Carmen is a partner at the Madrid office of Three Crowns LLP. She regularly acts as counsel and arbitrator in numerous investment treaties and commercial arbitrations, both under the rules of the main arbitral institutions and in ad hoc proceedings, and involving a variety of jurisdictions, with a particular focus on Latin America and Spain. Carmen is dually qualified in civil and common law, and regularly handles contentious cases in Spanish, English and French. She is admitted to the New York and Madrid Bars, as well as being a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales.
Carmen serves or has served in a variety of leadership positions, including as a Vice-President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, a member of the board and the President of the British Chapter of the Spanish and Iberoamerican Arbitration Club (CEIA), a member of the Arbitrator Appointment Committee of the Madrid Arbitration Court, and a team leader for the IBA Task Force for the Revision of the 2010 IBA Rules on the Taking of Evidence. Carmen writes and speaks regularly on arbitration-related issues. Carmen received degrees from Columbia Law School, the College of Europe and the Universidad de Murcia (Premio extraordinario y Premio Nacional Fin de Carrera).
