Diego is Deputy Counsel for the Ibero-American team at the Secretariat of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He has administered over 375 arbitration cases, handling proceedings in Spanish and English, and is the sole team member overseeing Portuguese-speaking arbitrations in Europe and Africa, including non-domestic cases involving Brazil. Previously, he served as a Floating Deputy Counsel at the ICC, supporting all 12 case management teams.

With over a decade of arbitration experience, he has worked at leading law firms in Spain and Central America. Diego has acted as counsel, administrative secretary, and assistant to arbitral tribunals in cases under major arbitral institutions. Alongside his legal practice, he has taught at several of Costa Rica’s top universities.

He holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University and another in International Arbitration from Queen Mary University of London.
