Ofilio is a Partner in Foley Hoag LLP in Washington D.C. His practice focuses on the representation of Sovereign States in high-stakes litigation before international courts and tribunals, including the International Court of Justice, ICSID and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. Ofilio also represents State-owned entities and private parties in commercial arbitrations under the UNCITRAL and ICC Rules, in disputes involving natural resources, telecommunications, construction, port operations, waste management, civil aviation and M&A transactions. Ofilio is originally from Nicaragua. After completing his law degree in his home country, he obtained a master’s degree in international affairs at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, and an LLM at Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor. He is barred in Nicaragua, New York, and the District of Columbia.
