GBS Disputes (Paris)

Pilar is an associate at Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes, where she participates in both investment and commercial arbitrations under the main arbitral rules (ICSID, ICC, ICDR, UNCITRAL). Prior to joining GBS Disputes, Pilar worked as an advisor on international disputes at the office of the Deputy Secretary to the Presidency of the Republic of Uruguay, where she participated on behalf of Uruguay in international arbitrations and human rights proceedings before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Previously, Pilar worked as an associate at Shearman & Sterling in Paris and in the Corporate and Banking Law Department of Guyer & Regules, in Montevideo. Pilar also acts as administrative secretary for arbitral tribunals.

Pilar divides her time between Paris and Montevideo, where she regularly teaches arbitration at the University of Montevideo and coaches the team participating in the Vis Moot in Vienna.
