Santiago is Counsel in Galicia Abogados, where he represents clients in international arbitrations involving national, transnational companies and state-owned entities, in an array of industries (construction, public works contracts, energy, among others), under ICC, ICDR, and LCIA, rules, as well as investment arbitrations under ICSID rules.
Santiago also has significant experience as a litigator in civil and commercial procedures before local and federal courts, interim measures in aid of arbitration, and enforcement and annulment of arbitral awards.
Prior to joining the Firm, he worked as a law clerk for Justice José Ramón Cossío of the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice. At Yale Law School, Santiago was Submissions Editor and Member of the Editorial Board of the Yale Journal of International Law. He has been an Associate Professor of International Adjudication at Universidad Iberoamericana and has been a guest lecturer on International Arbitration at several universities in Latin America.
Santiago holds an LL.M. from Yale Law School and an LL.B. from Universidad Iberoamericana. He has specialized studies in Public International Law from The Hague Academy of International Law.
